The launch of the first Irish partaking of the European Seniors Badminton Championship took place in the Brew Masters bar of the Great Northern Brewery Company on Thursday the 18th of May.
Host to the event were many key-note speakers who expressed their delight and congratulations on the committees and volunteers who worked hard to make such an event possible.
Chairman of the Louth Badminton Association, Damien Kenny addressed the launch, saying that “this event will be one of the greatest hosted in Ireland at the close of the year”, which is due to take place in the new sporting facility at Dundalk FC’s Youth Development Center, Oriel Park, Dundalk starting on the 27th of September and finishing on the 2nd of October.
Also present at the Evening’s launch was Jimmy Anderson, Event Manager for Badminton Europe, who also expressed his delight, stating “Ireland has a reputation for being a fantastic place to come visit. Dundalk is in a great location because it’s close to Dublin and Belfast”.
The event is expected to host various Badminton medallists from as far Israel and Eastern Europe to others including Germany, Spain and France.
